US biomass-to-hydrogen plant to store 450k tonnes of CO2 (www.gasworld.com)

California-based clean energy startup Mote has launched its second biomass-to-hydrogen and carbon sequestration plant in Sacramento after having received a $1.2m grant from the US Forest Service, the California Department of Conservation and the California Department of Forestry.

lostinapotatofield,

Yeah. The article definitely raises more questions than it answers. It utilizes 300k tons of forest residues, to sequester 450k tons of carbon, utilizing geologic sequestration (burying it), and makes hydrogen? That doesn't really make sense.

lostinapotatofield,

It likely fell under a permitted disclosure, as the AG stated they were pursuing a billing fraud investigation. Maybe still a case, if the disclosure was unnecessarily broad though.

Per Health and Human Services:

Health Oversight Activities. Covered entities may disclose protected health information to health oversight agencies (as defined in the Rule) for purposes of legally authorized health oversight activities, such as audits and investigations necessary for oversight of the health care system and government benefit programs.

lostinapotatofield, to whitewater

Shopping for a new boat! I mostly paddle class IV in Idaho - SF Payette, Lochsa, Little Salmon, Murtaugh. I've paddled a Zet Raptor for several years, and overall like it, but want more rocker. I like a boat that's fast and tracks well, and want something that works well for multidays too. I'm 5'10 and 170 lbs.

Demoing a Pyranha Scorch today. Think I'll try out a Dagger Code and a Zet Cross too. Any other boats I really need to try?

lostinapotatofield,

There's a lot of context. Basically, there's been a few weeks of controversy over whether anti-lgbt viewpoints would be allowed. This post (along with the removal of two admins) was a statement that anti-lgbt viewpoints are explicitly allowed on the site as long as they avoid slurs and direct incitement of violence. With a site population that leans pretty far left, this didn't go over well at all.

lostinapotatofield,

Hey! Same username at Squabblr. I've been here, just not as active as at Squabblr. Not sure why Jayclees decided to kill the site with the updated TOS, but yeah. Weird stuff.

lostinapotatofield,

I'm not a Twitter person. Compared to Squabblr, the fediverse seems to have a lot more content posted but a lot less interaction with the content. That's why I stuck with Squabblr. We'll see if an influx of us changes that dynamic some!

lostinapotatofield,

I'm out camping right now, and know of a dozen species of edible wild plant within 100 feet of me. I guarantee early humans knew of more edible plants than I do, and ate them regularly.

lostinapotatofield,

No argument from me! Love watching them roam around. We have some massive flocks around us. It's impressive when the whole flock takes flight! Had probably 30 of them fly right over my head once - something startled them from the opposite direction as I was walking down the road and they all cruised right over me.

lostinapotatofield,

Thank you! It wasn't the weather I was expecting when I drove to the lake, but it's the weather I got. I suspect the osprey felt similarly.

lostinapotatofield,

Turkey vulture for sure. I always think they're cool birds to see. They're huge!
