I want to share my experience with an SUV Plug-In Hybrid (#PHEV) I now own.
IMO Is only worth it if:

  • you have a good place to plug it in at home & preferably a garage. Otherwise you might worry about cable stealing, vandalism, bad weather.
  • your usecase is the city and under 30 miles a day or less.
  • you are wiling to develop a new habit of plug it almost daily.
    Whats the point of an PHEV if you cannot benefit the most of the "ev" part? So, if you're gonna get one, value highest ev range.

So, I'm in the process of trying to convert an old laptop into a #HomeServer. Since I'm not knowledgeable enough it's has been a disaster so far. I've tried Ubuntu LXDE, Linux Mint, Manjaro XFCE and so far I've had many problems archiving what I want. So I installed what I have on my desktop which is Manjaro KDE. Is a much better experience so far and at least I've accomplish 2 things. Wish me luck.

@StampedingLonghorn I was thinking that too. Fedora or OpenSuse. But I've never had a good experience with them back in the day. In reality the problem is my lack of knowledge. I'm just following official installation instructions, if that doesn't work I've tried the unofficial ones, YouTube videos, and trouble shooting. But I find that most of the time if something screw up in the installation process, uninstalling leave traces and even a full purge does not leave things as new.
