@sengi_app Seems like this would be a Frequently Asked Question but I couldn't find anything on it; is Sengi usable in a context where you don't have the ability to right click, i.e. on a mobile screen?

Sengi is mostly oriented to be a desktop only experience, so not so great on other form factor.

But - and that's something that amaze me - I know that there are some users of Sengi that do use it on mobile etc, so... it's possible. 🙂

@mjhn les listes dans mastodon c'est vraiment le truc mal foutu... mais ce n'est pas qu'un choix d'UX, il y a une réalité technique derrière.

Si mastodon force le suivi (ce que ne fait pas tout les logiciels AP : Pleroma notamment ne le force pas) pour ajouter dans une liste, c'est que sinon... ça risque de ne pas fonctionner.

Imaginons que tu soit sur une petite instance et que personne ne suit le compte, si jamais tu ajoute le compte dans une liste (si le logiciel le permet), elle (...)

@mjhn restera toujours vide et n'affichera jamais le contenu posté par ledit compte, ou seulement le contenu qui sera boosté par d'autres comptes suivi par les membres de l'instance.

Car il faut qu'une instance ai un follower pour que le système y envoie le contenu.

@sengi_app still having issues with my avatars not loading on the side bar. Any way to fix this? clearing cache doesnt do anything. i have accounts on many instances and the only avatar currently showing is mstdn.social (not mastodon.social tho)

Are you using the electron build or the webapp?

@chaoddity can you open the Console (Ctrl + Shift + I) and then reload the app (Ctrl + R)?
Do you see any errors popping up?

@sengi_app Re-ordering of accounts on the left hand navigation bar is supposed to work now, right?

Because I can't figure it out. Dragging isn't working, and I can't see any Up/Down icons (but I may just be missing them). Is there a button I need to click first to enable "Re-order Mode" or something?

@GrahamDowns Indeed it is!

It's a bit hidden, maybe I should add this to a FAQ or so, but you'll find it in the settings under the name "reorder account's icons": there you'll be able to unlock the icons and reorder them. 🙂

Does have a way to manually split posts into a thread? I sometimes post but I think they are more impactful when each single post makes a point, preferably one that can be shared without the full context of the thread.

If I could add something like "$---$" where the split should be I would be very happy. I would be even happier if Sengi would automatically add 🧵x/y to the bottom of each post to make the context clear.

@rheijdendael yes sometime API returns weirdly formatted error message... I try to parse/analyse to get the best of it, but it not error proof. 😕

@kgaiji bonjour, tu peux ajouter un hashtag comme colonne (recherche le hashtag, puis ajoute le).

Par contre le multi-hashtag n'est malheureusement pas encore supporté, mais on a déjà une issue à ce sujet d'ouvert sur github. 🙂

@DVerloes non, et pour être honnête ça ne m'intéresse pas trop. ActivityPub a ses faiblesses, mais la démarche me semble globalement plus saine.

Après on verra ce que donnera bluesky dans le future, c'est toujours bon de garder un œil sur ce qui se fait ailleurs. 🙂

    @fiee clients have a local view of your actions (fav/boosts/etc) and don't refresh everything every time.

    If you want to make sure the state of your app is 100% up to date after using another app, close and reopen it.

    maybe I should write a more in depth post-mortem about this, but I added this in a particular situation and landscape: Gab migrated to the fediverse with the arrogant idea that they could hijack our clients to bypass store restriction, reusing our work easily and against us.

    Sure, since it's FOSS we can't go against it completely, but at least I could state a clear "oh yeah? fuck you" in the process.

    Also, using humor instead of rationality to tackle this is really important for me since it place far-right ideas exactly where it belongs: not on the "it can be debatable" field but more on the "since what you're saying is completely senseless and ridiculous, I will behave accordingly" one.

    Those ideas are nonsensical and related to emotion, and that's exactly what humor can tackle here.

    @oceanity we all have the same experience on this: using the wrong account all the time (been there too!), then having the fear of using the wrong account, and after that just having the habit the check the selected account. 🙂

    A modal could be nice, we already have an issue on this, maybe one day!

    Anyone recommend a Mastodon web client? I'm a big fan of @sengi_app , but it seems to be causing some problems for my host, so I think I need to find a replacement, preferably something with the same functionality, multiple accounts with a custom selection of columns from those accounts, and the ability to boost anything from any of the accounts.
