Bally’s Profits Continue To Lag At Medinah Temple, Executives Say
Revenue at Medinah Temple’s temporary casino has been lower than expected, but Bally’s executives said that’s to be expected as it continues to break into the market.

I've gone to the dark side. I got my first ever cloud storage/all-in-one subscription service - OneDrive and all it entails.
They should give @chungliwen commission money cos he convinced me lol. Next, Kagi!

@liztai @chungliwen

I was a Windows Phone die hard (sobs) so I've been on One Drive for a while now. I am getting subscription fatigue but I think One Drive is a good deal. Microsoft is doing its best to drive me away with the AI stuff but I am pretty happy overall. My only wish is that you could choose which Office program you could download instead of needing all of them.

seanbala,
@seanbala@mas.to avatar

@liztai

I'd be willing to pay the price just for the storage alone. But Office as a whole is just so large. I have an older Surface Pro with only 128 GB. I need all the space I can get! I ended up downloading Word and Excel Mobile and also Libre Office which I go back and forth between.

Got a question about . I know has robust privacy settings. I was wondering about the underlying protection of the system from massive data scrapers. Are there underlying protections built into Mastodon to prevent theft of data or the upload of data onto a third party website? On another vein, is there any way to limit your account reach in outside engines like ? Does Mastodon have limited interaction with outside search? Thanks!

I adore dishes that can be made in 10 mins or under. This is an easy pasta dish – delicious – that is the perfect week night dish. It is great for lunches too, if you are at home. Put the pasta on to cook, dice the avocado, make a herb-garlic oil, mix all together and serve.

I am not much of a breakfast eater, and in general prefer the savoury options common in Northern and Eastern Europe, and those of India and S.E. Asia, to the sweet and sickly options of the West English speaking countries. Don’t get me wrong, I love a true French croissant with jam, and sometimes pancakes with honey (or sugar and lemon juice). I even have a large container full of my overnight oats mix on standby for mornings when I am super hungry as there is no other cereal in the house. But mostly we either skip the morning meal or prefer something more savoury. Even the overnight oats is unsweetened beyond the dried fruit and dried citrus that it contains.

Breakfast Rice and Raisin Porridge

This breakfast, however, is a little sweet – it has raisins in it – but is rice based, so that is a plus. It is for the days that I do crave some sweetness. Rice is ground to a coarse mix then cooked with the dried fruit. Cinnamon is added to bring a warm sweetness to the dish. You can sweeten it more with your sweetener of choice – I’ve always loved Golden Syrup. It is also great with spiced glazed apples or poached oranges and vanilla ricotta.

Rice porridge is mostly made for breakfast but in this house, it can be eaten at any time of the day. It is a great Winter dessert when your cupboards are bare. Rice and raisins – there isn’t anything more simple. Top with cream and fruit.

This dish can also be made savoury – omit the raisins and cook with Indian spices. Gorgeous. Use spices that you might use for Upma. Top with cashew nuts sauteed in ghee.

This sounds so good! Added to the list!

Oats are a cornerstone here. We often have them for breakfast. I will often make hot oats with fruit or add a scoop to a smoothie. @dohappybelove loves making oats chilla.

We also have been making the Masala Oats from "Parsi" often. I also like making Oats Upma.

So versitile! 🤗

Yan Wushi, to quote someone from Goodreads, 100% "deserves a beating, but is still bae."

Enjoying the #ThousandAutumns #donghua.

Edit - mistakenly thought Meng Xi Shi wrote the Untamed books lol

But anyway it looks like I just like this author better maybe because it feels like a very classic wuxia tale and the characters better developed. I found Yan Wushi interesting even if I found Shen Qiao annoying for his boy scout ways.

I guess I like bad boys 🤭

Got myself a one-person feast at Desi Bites in #Beaverton! 😆🎉 They’re not “Abhiruchi level” (i.e. the best #Indian food in all of #PDX, except located in Vancouver WA) but I loved getting a bit of everything with their vegetarian thali which comes with a single bite of dessert - the perfect portion! The egg curry was a bit too sweet for me, but I’m coming back for #vegan sambar on Tuesdays!

(I went to see Monkey Man afterwards, which sadly contained 0% Indian food… but 500% Dev Patel! 🇮🇳🔥)

@agnes Looks so good! Will add these to our list for when we visit the city again. When we visited #PDX last summer, we went to Bhuna and Bollywood Theater. Have you been to either?

We were struck by the idea of a Kashmiri restaurant in the US (Bhuna). So unusual for Indian in the US.

Bollywood Theater probably had the best service we've EVER had at a restaurant in the US. We both thought the food there was pretty top notch (and many dishes comparable to what we might get in India).

I spent most of my Saturday playing with my new DIY Framework 13 @frameworkcomputer and it was super fun & amazing! 💖 So far, I:

  • Installed #Fedora 38 and discovered it uses DNF (not APT)
  • Got #VirtualBox then immediately uninstalled it in favor of QEMU/KVM
  • Migrated from 1Password to #Bitwarden
  • Got Slack then immediately uninstalled it since it conflicted with Bitwarden installation

Plus I went down a few rabbit holes here and there, because that’s how you learn #Linux! 😂

Are you still pretty happy with your Framework 13? I am about to replace my Surface Pro 6 and I am pretty sure I want to get a Framework next.

seanbala,
@seanbala@mas.to avatar

@agnes Thanks for the feedback. I've been thinking of doing dual boot with it. I'm pretty tied into Microsoft stuff at the moment - but they are doing a good job of turning me off with AI stuff.

I'm interested FW for the environment and because I wanted to try Linux but refurbished computers felt like a real roll of the dice. And so many new laptops lack basic ports.

I haven't looked at the forums - are your issues pretty common or do you think you might have had bad luck with your machine?
