@WanderingInDigitalWorlds I got into a huge rant on a friend's community Discord. The tl;dr: Nintendo should just create a "Virtual Console 2.0" app for iOS. Even better, for folks in the EU, make a damn store & app. Nintendo's primary audience are grown up with grown up dollars--money on the frickin' table if you ask me.

@britt When I moved here from California as a kid, I just accepted it. I was a little confused but kiddo me just rolled with it.

Making PC my primary platform for gaming & my XBOX, Nintendo Switch as a secondary platform makes me understand why die-hard PC folks bash on console players.

Then Phil [Spencer] says "it would be nice if Epic, GOG would be available on XBOX" kinda irked me. PC games are stupid demanding of HDD space & requirements. My XBOX is there to play console games.

What would be nice if I could play my XBOX console games on my PC--locally, not streaming.

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds Consoles are great for anyone who doesn’t have the budget for building a PC, new to gaming and/or wants a secondary gaming platform.

Square pegging PC games in the round hole that is consoles is an odd approach to accessibility. If it was the inverse, sure. I’ll invest in w/e disc drive to make my console games playable on PC.

@majorlinux Next console generation is going to be an interesting one. I made the choice of making PC my primary platform & my XBOX One as a secondary [console]. A lot of great indie & AAA games show up on Steam, Epic, and/or GOG so I haven't been missing much.

I honestly would love to see Halo: MCC & Gears playable on PlayStation consoles. I'm just now playing Horizon Zero Dawn on PC.

Nintendo is going to Nintendo until they feel compelled to put something on a different platform.

All the foot stomping over the #Xbox rumors turned out to be a total nothing burger yesterday. Here’s a 4-minute announcement, but TL;DW:

  • Four unnamed games coming to other consoles (older than a year, so no Starfield)
  • All Blizzard Activision games coming to GamePass starting with Diablo 4 in a little bit
  • Hint at new hardware by holidays 2024
  • aaand that’s it?

Xbox is not dissolving as a platform. Pretty weak announcement IMO. #Microsoft

@InfiniteHench Perhaps. It is still assuring that Microsoft isn’t gatekeeping what was once multi-platform games to their own ecosystem.

Acknowledging new hardware this year without promising too much is all the information we need at this time. Plans change so keeping that part of the update to a minimum is sufficient.

It boggles my frickin' mind that Kinder Eggs are banned in the USA because Americans are not smart enough to separate the toy from the chocolate shell. It is considered a choking hazard.

For the love of all things cute and cuddly, a whole generation of kids grew up in a time when a toy packaged in plastic was buried deep inside a box of cereal. The only way to extract it was to eat it as normal or dump the whole thing in a large mixing bowl.

Ugh, Americans.

If it doesn’t have to be functional and is strictly decor, you can probably visit the Ma & Pa game shops in your area and grab one on-the-cheap.

Apple's really trying hard this time round to convince Intel Mac owners to make the switch to Apple Silicon. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Sonoma is the last version of macOS that runs on Intel. Apple is beyond done and ready to move on

@stroughtonsmith Me, still rockin' a 13-inch mid-2010 MacBook Pro & mid-2011 21.5 inch iMac.

The former has 16GB of RAM & 1TB SSD and the latter has a 1TB Western Digital HDD & 20GB of RAM.

I use my iMac as a iTunes jukebox & AirPlay my media to my IKEA SONOS speakers. shrugs

@Hika No, if you already activated using the loophole, you’re golden to utilize the 10 license over to 11. If you linked the activation to a Microsoft account, that activation is paired with that MSA just like an MSOffice license. Just sign into Settings using a Microsoft Account (MSA) and go to Windows Update > Activation.

It should read: “This license is activated with a Microsoft Account.” (or something along those lines)

@Hika Yes. That 7 Key, once verified by the activation servers becomes a W10 key which in turn becomes a W11 key.
