Cargo trikes working in midtown #manhattan in the rain this morning. The Worksman does catering at construction sites. The dad doing school drop-off said, "It started during covid, and now it's a lifestyle."

I noticed this Mercedes using the bus lane to bypass cars at a red light. Suspicious, I looked up the plate on #HowsMyDrivingNY & found that the driver has OVER ONE HUNDRED FIFTEEN CAMERA VIOLATIONS IN NEW YORK CITY. I thought of @ashok thread on using tech to alert people of risky drivers...

Driver is likely committing insurance fraud by having the car registered in PA. And they've paid almost $7k in fines so far, having decided that doing whatever they want is worth the price.

Just won a #NYCTLC case against a driver who abruptly entered a protected bike lane and stopped, forcing me onto the sidewalk, then continued driving down the bike lane. Driver failed to show for first hearing, was issued a default guilty verdict, appealed, rescheduled the hearing, then pled guilty.

#NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission allows anyone to file complaints against licensed drivers. Imagine if citizens were able to file complaints against ANY driver and have the gov't take them seriously

Today we are on the NYS Thruway! Where this driver reading a stack of printed documents held against their steering wheel with both thumbs almost drove into the side of our bus, prompting evasive maneuvers from the bus driver.

As a follow-up to past discussions, I tried contacting Walmart and Adams (Hudson Valley grocery + garden store) to request #bikeparking.

Walmart wrote, "Should there be any updates or developments regarding this idea, we will make sure to communicate them."

Adams wrote back that they were buying a rack.

So, when on 9W, shop local! And if I die on 9W, please politicize my death.

TIL that you can buy the official #Philly cheesesteak cheese, Cooper Sharp, in #kingstonNY. I've never seen it in NYC.

However, if you order a cheesesteak here, you get precooked roast beef (!!!), sliced then heated on a griddle with American cheese, and served on a round roll.

It makes no sense.
