#MacOS inspired application packaging format for #cuteOS.
I finnaly come up with a nice and clean format, and will publish these docs when all of the job will be done.
For running cuteOS app bundles I've made a little program in #cpp called "cute-exec". That will parse the app.json file, locate the executable, and run it.
It'll be better in the future, with bundle scan and bundle verification support.
I would like to personally wish a good year of 2024 to these people:
@jcrabapple
For making up to 90% of my feed on both my accounts and worshipping Sleep Token for no reason at all. Wish you and your kids and relatives a good year of 2024.
@qugalet
For making pl.m0e.space, my safe corner, the one that doesn't silence me, possible, for running and moderating it. Wish you luck in your college studies and a good year of 2024.
shall i start posting pictures of me with my macbook pro ultra max with a cup of hot latte while wearing glasses, pattern shirt and jeans, while having a nice little beard and a mustache or something? jesus internet sucks mate
Unfortunately, after some time using #FreeBSD it's time to move back to #ArchLinux.
The thing is – drivers, support, etc.
I now use KDE Plasma on Arch and being happy developing my OS.
And also, unfortunate, but I drop the idea of making a FreeBSD-based system.
It's just too much work for me as a solo developer (and enthusiast).
Maybe, in the future, it will happen, with a big team of developers, like "FreeBSD edition" or something.
after two months using crystal linux i shall say it is a great distro with a great experience. you just get arch linux but with a simple installation. that's exactly what i need.
i also switched back to nvim recently, doing well so far, just can't get omnisharp to fucking work for some reason. other than that, it's all good.
i am currently working on a linux distribution installer backend (like calamares for example) in Zig. honestly, it feels good. a gulp of fresh air for me as a C++ dev. you can find it here: https://codeberg.org/nitrogenez/cute-instlib.
who will suggest a good name for the project will get a candy from a stranger in the van.
on fedi you can call yourself a microcelebrity when you get a single fav on your post. because it's a fucking headache to find someone to your liking on fedi.
out of nowhere i got a panic attack. just tried to fall asleep and boom. fucking hate that. hey bitch i've got an ass load of work for tomorrow get the fuck out of my head
i've tried to go into the data-oriented design once, almost a decade ago, and didn't go anywhere because it seemed to me like an overcomplication. now i see that it's useful, but it's also a rabbit hole, which once you go into, you wouldn't get back out of.
