Is it just me or has the quality of new metal music dipped a bit this year? There’s some good stuff but not a lot of absolute standouts for me so far.

@HailsandAles I'd had that feeling. I only have 2-3 actual metal records on my top 20 for the year so far, the all-genre- nothing beats that Hemorrhoid for me so far. Nekrodawn kinda cool, Witch Vomit.. I mean are we counting Zolle? haha. Maoong I dig, it's like stoner, like High on Fire. But those are mostly it.

For the metal end of year, I have some cooler gross stuff but really, maybe only like 9 or 10 major contenders, and I can't put most of them on my all-genre list. So who even knows. Not even a lot I'm looking forward to that's been announced yet. Hmmm

@HailsandAles oh yeah- my thing is, so many great EPs come out, but not a lot of full lengths I love. Which makes me REALLY admire the bands that can manage to make amazing full lengths. I know it's tough. I'm thinking of putting that Purulency EP on my top 20 even though it's an EP. I might not even GIVE a fuck hahaha

@ericdano ugh. My thing is, Spotify isn't even GOOD. It doesn't always have stuff. Its UI is awful and ugly. It's slow. Ads. I hate everything about it and always have haha. I have an account for when friends would suggest things there but yuck. No thanks

Why am I not surprised that the new Ghostface and TwatYe track is errrr, not very good. What a shame, imagine if they had dropped this in 2010?? Ghostface's bars aren't that bad but Ye's verse is trash and the beat is unremarkable. The whole is less than sum of its parts.
