TIL that there's at least one tech org that unironically uses GitHub stars as a metric for approving projects. It's like a meme come to life :blobfoxupsidedowndizzy:
on Windows 11, turning off location permission breaks the clock in the taskbar and on the lock screen. Other clocks will continue to work, but those two will not update when the system timezone changes. Bug was reported at least two years ago, Microsoft's suggestion is to reinstall the display driver? :blobfoxupsidedown:
Update: Just in case it was unclear, reinstalling the driver will not fix this. You need to enable location, re-enable automatic time zone setting, and then reboot.
Alright, I've set up my repo for Advent of Code. As in the past, I'll be using C# and building for readability and correctness instead of code golf or racing the leaderboards. This year I finally figured out how to keep the input files out of source control. Now I don't have to feel guilty about leaking the prompts! :blobfoxupsidedown:
Finally got my instances back online. Took a pretty regular backup but it ran super slow. Finally finished after half a day of compressing files :blobfoxannoyed:
