I so much wish the goals for software were performance first, then features.

It's so hard to understand that apps are over ~100.000.000 bytes heavy when my first hard drive was ~20.000.000 bytes (where I had a hundred programs, including drawing and animation apps) and my first computer had 3.583 bytes of RAM free.

Slack is 289 million bytes. Mostly to share a sentence of text. I just can't

I'm very stuck. I restore an image using the #Linux dd command to a new m.2 disk, but the computer fails to boot with it.

ERROR: device ´UUID=´ not found. Skipping fsck.
mount: /new_root: can't find UUID=.
You are now being dropped into an emergency shell.

I can mount the disk in another computer and see that the uuid seems correct in grub.cfg and fstab.

Maybe the BIOS? 😢 #help

Do you know of any creative apps for Android? I tried searching for "creative android apps" in YouTube and the results are completely useless. I'm looking for something to create images (drawing, collage), videos or music. Something that fosters creativity and curiosity instead of just being addictive or distracting. For kids.

I just figured out how to generate lines on a compute shader. The program generates 100 lines with 1000 vertices in each line, then renders them as line strips.

This is the kind of thing I used to draw when GPUs didn't exist even in sci-fi XD

Next I'll try to render triangle strips and plain triangles.

In recent years I thought about doing this many times.
Today is finally the day.

One by one disappearing, like the bits in HAL's memory modules.

I could close my account instead, but then someone could take over it after 30 days.

So I'll leave as clean as the first day, as nothing had happened during the last 14 years.

One of the things I did today during the #CreativeCode Jam in Berlin was to visualize some agents (2D points) @mimetik 's program generated on real time.

His program is fascinating to watch... how they cluster, chase each other, try to escape...

I thought the point distribution in 2D space was more interesting than just a random distribution and wondered how they might look as triangles.

6 agent types with different colors. It was fun to juggle with that data and create many iterations.

I know it's a huge amount of work to put together such a show. According to the video, between 52 and ~80 people working for a year.

Unfortunately I didn't enjoy it. I liked the sound better when Henke was involved. It was too pop for me, like a synthesizer demo with lots of arpeggios. I missed some kind of suspense or mystery... a story. The interview mentions it would be too messy projecting directly on the construction. I would have liked it better #vektor #berlin

After years on my to-do list, I'm going to upload my old Tumblr images (mostly #Processing stuff) to my homepage.

I closed my account and now someone else posts with my name.

The media is too fat though. Over 500 Mb of jpg, png, gif and mp4. Therefore I'm converting the content to more modern formats.

I was very happy to see that this image takes 3330 bytes as a webp. That would fit even in my first computer :-) I created it to explain nested loops in Fachhochschule Potsdam 9 years ago.
