I'm back now it seems. Life has not been the easiest since the majority of messaging that I have been receiving is that none of my career goals are achievable by me and that I should give up now the very latest. Most of the things that I think I have seen are related to the way how the current AI things look so good to me as a new aspiring IT person.

I'm starting the Finnish version of the 42 coding schools Piscine (basically a month long test of fitness to the school / entrance exam) next monday and I am pretty excited about it right now. I get to meet new people from my Piscine this wednesday as well which is potentially very nice too. The people that I have talked to on the Slack channels have been pretty friendly so far, but then again so is almost anyone in a event group chat before said event even begins.

The people who were nice on Slack were nice in real life too. Many of them are really smart people too (masters of something degree holders and or PhD students) while I am barely capable of RTFMing out of most issues and am likely to not be fit for university studies.

I am looking forward to get to know everyone there better ​:blobcat_blankie:​

The first day is now over. I put in 10 hours today and those hours included alot of talking to people and telling them what I had just learned minutes ago. Without forgetting that atleast several moments were wasted on the iMac keyboard layout that my muscle memory just does not want to learn fast.

This was a fun day and I'm for sure going back tomorrow

First week at 42 Piscine is now over. Many people have said that my code is clean, easy to read and works without forgetting that it respects the styleguide perfectly.

Hello everybody! I am a transfem (my preferred pronouns are she/her) software developer from Finland. My goals are beyond my understanding and I often need to remind myself to take it easy and that the things I am tinkering with today will for sure exist tomorrow. Programming is a really fun hobby and I hope it stays that way.

My favorite things in the world are programming, cute cats and my penguin plushie.
