«The shift to larger vehicles has damaged progress on #climate, energy security and diversification, as energy demand and #CO2 emissions could have fallen by over 30% between 2010-2022 if vehicles had stayed the same size».
Heaviest ever #SUVs massively undermine climate benefits of other vehicle improvements
I see a lot of people believe there is no way to have #privacy online. Corporations have pushed so hard that many are persuaded and disillusioned.
Privacy-compliant alternative software exists and it's up to you to choose and promote it.
Tracking tools are not required but wanted technologies: it is not something inevitable inside a software.
When you see it that way, your approach to software change and you will also learn to love #ethical software as you know how to appreciate organic food.
@PublicLewdness@emanuele Great post! I'm a web dev and run my own company. I spend a lot of time explaining my clients why they should NOT use Google Analytics, Facebook & Twitter buttons but some privacy-friendly options (like plausible.io). But it is almost as unpromising as explaining to someone who has no idea why you shouldn't use Microsoft Office.
What I hear - among other things - is:
But, it is free
But, everyone is using it
But, I fear Google will downrank my website if I remove Google Analytics
In the minds of normal people, there is no world outside Google Search & Analytics.
