Finished Three Days to Never by Tim Powers. First half was pretty dense and slow, but second half, when things were getting obvious, and plans finally getting into motion, were very interesting, and was able to read them in just a few days....
It’s interesting when people forget actual name of the series, like “Game of Throne series” instead of A Song of Ice and Fire. Didn’t know Three Body Problem series have a name.
Yeah, while people generally like the books, it’s generally agreed upon (at least in this community) that it’s a bit of a slog to go through.
Continuing Three Days to Never by Tim Powers, I was around first quarter mark before, but have crossed the half mark now. The books has gotten really interesting, will probably finish this week, if nothing comes up....
Crazy Rich Asians sounds interesting, how are you liking it so far?
The Butcher of the Forest is a dark fantasy because of horror theme? Or because author is very sadistic with his characters? I don’t mind horror, but not in a mood for the latter right now.
Yeah, I am not a big fan of genre, but it’s sometimes fun to read something completely different. And I do occasionally enjoy the rom-com movies, so having some of these around can be nice.
I read Dune a loooong time ago, but while I remember the gist of story, don’t remember the details, so staying away from the movies too. Going to do a re-read, and then watch the movies.
The Witcher is an interesting world. Would be interesting to see how they expand the stories in next games.
That premise about Tender is Flesh made me go from, ‘interesting’ to ‘uhh…’ pretty quickly. Do let us know if you do (or do not) finish the book, and how it goes.
I was reading Lightbringer series by Brent Weeks, but gave up at the start of book 3. Have you read it? If yes, how do you compare it with The Night Angel series?
I remember that The Way of Kings was a bit slow to start, but didn’t realise it was this slow. I have been planning a re-read in anticipation of the 5th book, so nice to adjust my expectations.
