@mattiem I’m having more luck this time by really leaning on custom stations. I’ve effectively reproduced what I had in Up Next in PocketCasts by making a manual station of my favorite episodes. Just no automated top/bottom sorting.
I shared a while back about a non-alcoholic tequila we tried and liked. This time around, we tried another brand, Almave, owned by Lewis Hamilton of #F1 fame. I think we all have a new favorite now. We made margaritas on Sunday and now every night since because they’re so good 😂
@beardedtechguy I started an IT degree about 15 years ago and then dropped out when I took my current job. I’ve had a few false starts over the years but during the pandemic I decided I’m actually going to finish it for good. It’s funny, having worked in marketing and web development for all this time but not actual IT. I was way too confident going into this program because I am learning how little I actually know about hardware and networking 😅
I’ve been posting about wanting blogging to feel more like posting on here forever and…I think this gets me there. Why bother hosting a #blog and all of that hassle when your #Mastodon account could literally be a blog?
It’s amazing what a well-maintained API enables in for client apps like this. When the UI is in play, Mastodon effectively becomes infrastructure
For lack of a better word, I was “socialized” in the kind of web @sheephorse is describing here. Starting out in 2011, teaching myself dev, a daily part of my routine was sharing what I was learning on what was then Twitter. The idea of “read blogs, share blogs” just kind of became how my brain engaged with social media.
Algorithms eventually broke that habit for the most part. I still read so much but I don’t find myself sharing as often. We all need to unlearn and share more!
I have a bunch of stuff planned for Audra for #MothersDay but the coolest is probably these wallpapers I'm making. Ripley and I did a bunch of finger paints and I'm using his hands and feet to make her a set of wallpapers for her iPhone and iPad.
The ninth-gen iPad is on sale for $250 at Walmart and Best Buy. Not new or shiny, but plenty of power for a lot of workflows at an incredible price. I hope it stays in the channel at this discount like the M1 MacBook Air.
It remains hilarious to me that Apple does these bento designs to summarize product features now but is still entirely allergic to putting RAM in them. https://eworld.social/@ismh/112400254312556653
Not sure if anyone will use this as much as I do, but iHeart has a bunch of ad-free genre stations like Alternative 2000’s, Nu-Metal, 80's, 90's, etc. that you can listen to in @broadcastsapp if you hate the iHeart app as much as I do. Great interface for a big name, well-run #radio catalog. You just have to search iHeart in the Broadcasts directory. #NowPlaying
