Well I went to the store and got another pen! The TWSBI Vac 700R w/ an F nib feels solid with a nice, hefty weight behind it. The weight and increased grip diameter feel very comfortable in my hand. It's a smoother writing experience than the Lamy with an M nib too.

I also picked up this Colorverse ink which has a charming red/purple berry color to it with hints of gold, and is almost exactly what I was hoping for before entering the shop today.

A hand holding a small box over a wooden table. The box is lined in white with around the edges and the center is a red-purple color. The text within the red-purple colored area reads: Kingdom Series [ heungcheon mangcheong ] Colorverse Project Ink Glistening/30ml

@klizana I held a LAMY Safari and a urge has come over me. Do you (or anyone else reading this) have any suggestions on alternatives? I don’t mind/rather enjoy the triangular grip of the Safari.

These oyster mushrooms were right at the start of the trail on a downed tree which has given me several photographic opportunities over the years. However, this bloom was by far the best. It was actively dropping spores when I found it, and the amount of insects (mainly slugs) being draw to it was insane!

My photo project "I'll be Gone by Morning" is my effort to document fungal biodiversity and its change over time. The title comes from the fleeting nature of many of the mushrooms found throughout this project, either from short fruiting lifespans or being consumed by insects and animals.

I am often left thinking of the dichotomy between myself and the subjects of this project, as I seek to be alone to photograph something seemingly infinitely interconnected.

I see is trending and wanted to take the opportunity to throw my "mostly" mushroom skewing body of work into the ring.

I've spent the last year and a half crawling around like a weirdo in the woods, for my ongoing project "In the Morning, I'll be Gone," and it's been one of the most rewarding experiences.

I also want to take the time to say I sell prints of my work at https://www.devanopolis.com/darkroom

Taking walks at the lake with the Gameboy Camera is becoming a more regular thing.

It's nice to have something small but not innately serious, like my Fuji GFX, to carry around, and the results are super fun!

I haven't been feeling up to hiking for mushroom photos lately though, and I really would like to get back out before fall hits!

Howdy everyone,

Making a fresh start on Mastodon, after feeling dissatisfied with Threads and Instagram! For the uninitiated, I take photos of mushrooms and post photos of my dummy dog along the way.

Here's a few mushrooms to start things off.
