In June 2013, we were very lucky to attend a special celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Tiki Room at #Disneyland , and the event included being in the Tiki Room, with #RichardMSherman singing songs at a baby grand piano that had been brought in. Such an amazing evening.

At #PixarPalsPlaytimeParty in the #FantasylandTheatre in #Disneyland for #PixarFest , there's also a photo op for #ItsABugsLife, and included in that is a box of Casey Jr. cookies. The "nutrition facts" caught my eye. 8,000 calorie diet seems ... high? And there's always a disclaimer about what could inadvertently be included, but the last line seems like more than you should expect? And, the mis-spelling is not mine. 1/2

For lunch today from #AwardWieners , I tried the plant-based Philly dog, topped with mushrooms, grilled onions and peppers and dairy-free crema. For some reason, I hadn't expected there to be a hot dog, just the vegetables. That might have been better, as the hot dog had zero flavor. None. I ended up having to put mustard on it to give it some flavor. It's not the first time I've encountered a plant-based product devoid of flavor, even something as simple as just salt. I don't get it. 1/2

I also tried the asada fries - filmstrip fries topped with marinated carne asada, cheddar cheese, cilantro and onions, with salsa de arbol and guacamole. I enjoyed this, and the guac was particularly good. #AwardWieners #DisneyCaliforniaAdventure 2/2

Friends got the mixed emotions popcorn (ube-flavored popcorn with M&Ms, freeze-dried Skittles and pretzel sticks) from #TroubadourTavern , and I had a taste. Really liked it all, very tasty. #Disneyland #PixarFest

After Fantasmic and fireworks last night, we rode Storybook and then headed to Toontown for a couple rides, and then made our way to #TropicalHideaway for a late night treat.

We had the pineapple coconut float, pineapple-coconut juice topped with pineapple soft serve, strawberry lava and a turtle gummy. Really enjoyed it, and it was a good way to wind down the day while enjoying additional time with friends. #Disneyland

Dinner last night was at #CafeOrleans, and I had the beef bourguignon. Well, that's what it's called on the menu. But it was really more like pot roast. It was really tasty, good seasoning and texture on the beef and very flavorful accompaniments instead of just being boiled to death.

Cafe Orleans seems to have a penchant for mis-naming things, as they'd also previously referred to a sauce as "vegetarian bolognese". #Disneyland

We finally found the new Big Al sculpture, with the help of friends. We'd gone looking for him last week but I'd thought he was in a different place, and we apparently walked right past him without seeing him because we were focused on something else.

He's situated in the Disney Vacation Club space just across the #GrandCalifornianHotel entrance into #DisneyCaliforniaAdventure . The lockers have been moved further up the path, and they're free for 2 hours while you go on Grizzly River Run. 1/2

We went on yesterday, and we rode the non-swinging gondola. Some of our other friends decided to ride the swinging one. So Dug from came charging at us periodically, but always with a smile.

We had a great turtle-sighting day yesterday. And look, they were even testing a baby turtle animatronic! So cute. The adult turtles only cost a quarter to activate, but the circuitry on the baby has to be smaller, so they're more expensive and cost a dollar to turn on. #Disneyland

Yesterday, I also tried the lemon creme fraiche cheesecake with a lemon gelee layer and graham cracker crust, from #JollyHolidayBakery . Really tasty. #Disneyland

Lunch yesterday was at #JollyHolidayBakery , and I had the "Silenzio Bruno" sandwich, with ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone, lettuce, tomato, pickled onion, pepperoncini, and Italian dressing on an Italian roll, with house-made chips. I liked the sandwich, and with everything chopped up, you got a good taste mix in every bite. The house-made chips were good too, crispy and not oily. #PixarFest #Disneyland
