@sarajw @barrysampson @bendaubney @robb 🙌🏻 haha I hear that — my philosophy is often let's slap this idea together and then tidy up once it's working. It's a bit of move fast and sweep up once you get there.

If I were starting today I'd pick up from https://github.com/madrilene/eleventy-excellent (I forked a different template initially because it was minimal and used liquid templating, but I think I've rewritten it at this point).

What's step 5? A markdown file for every image? That sounds painful. A single json or yaml file mapping images to metadata? Maybe better? Could get out of hand. Some very simple CMS? Other ideas?
