I'm traveling... what the hell is going on with MS and openai?

cmicmuir,

@ward it is like a fight between school yard groups.

cmicmuir,

@ward I for some reason want one. I have no need for one

I keep seeing people online saying that isn’t ready for professionals, or that the Linux desktop isn’t for doing real work, or this usual « year of Linux desktop » meme.

So I thought I’d address the topic, because Linux is undeniably already being used by professionals all around the world, and definitely has a lot of tools to do professional work, either or proprietary:

cmicmuir,

@thelinuxEXP I would say it is better for professional work because you can tailor it to exactly what you need it to do unlike other traditional operating systems.

"we need brands to embrace the fediverse to legitimize it!"
FUCK NO. The brands can fuck off. I'm happy with all the awesome humans.

cmicmuir,

@ward for real. they don't need to be there to legitimize it, we are the ones who do that to people not to operations

Any recommendations for good screen recording apps, particularly for games?

I share clips with friends but am starting to make stuff for YouTube, just for fun.

Currently use the built-in tool with Nvidia Experience. But I'd rather use something else so I don't have it constantly running in the bkg.

cmicmuir,

@InfiniteHench OBS is my go to for windows.

My was delivered today. It’ll be my first time playing around with Android again in like 10 years or so.

What should I do with it? Any cool apps, customization settings?

And before you ask…no I’m not switch from Apple. 😉

cmicmuir,

@kylewritescode I messed around with the composer first thing when i got mine.

After BG3, I really need a few small (1-4 hour) indie games before I get into Starfield. I like most genres, but I'm not that into crafting, framing, or busy work. Any new or old gems you'd recommend?

cmicmuir,

@ward I would say Sea of Stars but that is not Indie nor under 4 hours to beat. It has that old school jrpg feel as it is made by veratrin devs of old jrpgs.

    cmicmuir,

@gamingonlinux That is great news, I have some very good games on there and i would like a nice way to get them on deck. I have been trying lutris for them but it is lacking. Heroic has been very nice for deck.

of the day. It is a one.

    cmicmuir, to NextDNS

If you are looking for a good way to take control of your internet experience you should look for a custom DNS for your devices. I have one that I use for my phone as it is important to keep that safe as it now has access to most of your important things, IE bank, notes, messages, and photos. I would start by watching @techlore newest video on as a good starting point of what a custom DNS can do for you. https://youtu.be/WUG57ynLb8I

Okay , I'm breaking up with you.

When I was new to stuff, helped me a lot with setting things up, especially email. But this is just stupid. I'm already paying for a server package that comes with Plesk, but it can't administer ?

    Fuck that. I'm leaving.

Any alternatives? (Don't you dare to say 😠)
