Which OS are you using?

I'm in between modified Stock and MuOS, but wanted to hear your input.

I didn't like stock at all. It felt chunky and slow for me.

I'm currently digging into MuOS ( https://muos.dev ) , liking it so far! It also has @zep #pico8 support, you simply download the binaries and it runs natively. This is a huge plus for me.

MuOS's menu is not as eye-candy like Batocera, but fast, highly customizable, and works nicely.

@sundray Knulli is the fork of Batocera, right? On reddit, people said it's still too early to jump on in, so I'm currently digging into MuOS.

After sending my Anbernic RG351P to the grave (don't ask me why 🥲), I bought the Anbernic RG35XX-H as a portable retro gaming console.

@zafer ' s new toy, the RG35XX Pro model (last photo), has the same chipset. Its price was quite reasonable compared to the RG351p at the time (Anbernic is currently $53 + taxes, whereas when I bought the RG351p, it was around $110 excl. taxes).

I got it solely to play games from the GBA generation that I completely missed out on as a kid. I wanted a small device; otherwise, I wouldn't have bought it, and I would have continued with the solutions I already had.

Another notable alternative was the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro (2nd photo on the previous post), but it exceeded the absurd 150 euro Turkish imports limit (we cannot order anything over €150 without imports advisor automatically), so I'm not even allowed to buy it...

The binary extracts the assets from the rom to play, all legal.

At Desktop mode, I simply downloaded the Linux binary from GitHub, got the USA no-intro rom of my game, added a the #github binary as a non-steam game. At the gaming mode, I forced compatibility on Linux runtime.

Deck controllers are pre-configured, all buttons work, runs at native widescreen 720p@60hz

For a few weeks now, I've been using VidHub as a video player on my iPad and MacBook.

I was actually looking for an alternative to Infuse; I thought its yearly subscription was unnecessarily expensive. While browsing, I came across this app:

It's a very nice player that supports gestures and more on tablets. Plus, I think it uses MPV in the background, which makes it very fast.

Additionally, I've tried streaming videos from Plex, Jellyfin/Emby servers, and via Samba mount, and it handled all of them smoothly.

Jellyfin's macOS client is garbage, and it's even better to say there's no iPadOS client; sometimes, I have to connect via Samba. This app solved both of these problems for me at once.

Since my first trials, it has received updates 2-3 times. Active development is ongoing.

Basic usage is free, and I didn't encounter any restrictions in basic usage. However, since it solved both of my problems, I directly purchased the lifetime premium.

@Eghone I'm comparing lifetime licenses. I'd rather get an open source version and donate to them, and while I was searching for it I stumbled upon this one.

In my country, lifetime licenses are like this : For Infuse: 4000 TRL ($125) lifetime , versus 499 TRL ($15) lifetime of VidHub, so it's almost 10x more expensive, so nah.
