If you're evaluating a hosted solution, which pricing model do you prefer:

A — pay per container: cost accumulates based on how many containers you run, and for how long, and what resource requests they come with.

B — pay per node: cost accumulates based on how many worker nodes you run, and how beefy they are. The number of containers you run only indirectly affects your cost, via autoscaling.

@xahteiwi depends on the workload. Historically, I'd go with B (per node), which also allows "overprovisioning" (somehow...).
More Cloud-ish would be A, of course.
One project requires multiple egress IPs, so the approach "per node" is better here.

At the risk of stating the obvious, the POI database in #OpenStreetMap/OsmAnd is indispensable. As an example, always knowing the nearest source of drinking water is beyond useful on a hike, bike ride, or dog walk on a sunny day.

Ein Marktbegleiter betreibt vier Mailserver (mx1-4). MX1 hat die Capability für SMTPUTF8, MX2 ... nicht. Die anderen mit Prio 20/50 auch nicht.

vor allem offenbart das doch noch richtig viele weitere Fragen: wie kommt es, dass einer von den vier öffentlich erreichbaren Mailservern eine abweichende Konfiguration hat?
Gibt's da kein Konfigurations-Management, das die Systeme alle identisch konfiguriert?
Wenn nein: warum nicht? Wir haben 2023.
Wenn ja: was ist kaputt, dass das Konfigurations-Management sowas überhaupt erlaubt?

We should always try to write code / sql in multiple lines:

  • troubleshooting is easier
  • error/warning messages point you to the right place
  • (git) diff, shows the actual changes in a more readable way
