No the episode is definitely a commentary on racism. The inhabitants of Finetime are not just gen z, they are explicitly upper class gen z. They have literally blue blood. They are very Tory-coded.
The whole episode is riddled with micro aggressions from Lindy towards the doctor. Here is a possibly incomplete list of them:
declining the Doctors call in the cold open. but taking Ruby’s later on
suspecting the Doctor is responsible for the situation
being disgusted by Ruby and the Doctor being in the same room
not noticing the Doctor and the person calling her in the morning where one and the same, saying she just thought they "looked the same"
Introducing the Doctor to her friends with the words “he is not as stupid as he looks” and suggesting he would be punished later on
There is also the mention of a cleanse, which takes on a very different meaning after the twist especially since not just the majority of the Finetime characters but all of them are white.
The whole episode is designed to make you question your own perceptiveness of racism. After the twist you are supposed to go “how could I have been so blind?”. I recommend a rewatch. And no, I didn’t pick up on it at first. I did notice some of them as weird, but noticed what all of them have in common only at the end.

Genocide requires intent. There is at least the possibility that Israel is merely showing careless disregard and willful ignorance towards Palestinian lifes. That doesn’t make a practical difference, of course. The fact that Israel is maybe? not as racist as they could be, doesn’t help all the dead or starving civilians.
That’s why I like the term extermination. It’s precise but doesn’t require intent. It doesn’t imply that Israels interest in defeating Hamas is merely a smokescreen (for the record: I don’t think Hamas can be defeated militarily, but I understand the interest).
And it does all that without being a euphemism.

Because the Eurovision Song Contest is organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). The EBUs primary purpose is to develop and manage technical standards for European TV and Radio. The FLAC audio file format for example was developed in part by the EBU. They are here to make sure a TV or Radio bought in Portugal will also work in Finland and every country in between.
As such they don’t really care all that much whether a country is technically located in Europe or not. As long as it makes sense for a country to be part in the European Broadcasting Area it is allowed to join the organisation. That’s why North African countries such as Egypt are part of the EBU and that’s why Israel is a full member.
Australias case is a bit different. They are here despite not being full members. The participating broadcaster SBS is merely an associate member giving them the same status as American networks CBS or NBC. The inclusion of the singers from down under started as a joke to celebrate the shows anniversary and then they stuck around because SBS payed enough money and general audiences liked the idea.
You are correct. They are using the file format heavily but didn’t develop it initially. The German wikipedia page is a bit confusingly laid out in that regard leading to my mistake (They are classifing the use as a “tecnical development” along with the stuff the EBU actually developed).
The EBU is and was involved in the development of technical specs such as DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) or DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) but FLAC isn’t one of them.
The last device I own that doesn’t run an open source operating system is an iPad. I basically use it as a laptop most of the time with a keyboard case, but I do like being able to take just the screen to use as a drawing/note-taking tablet. I treat it more like a “convertible” device rather than a tablet alone....
I haven’t tried it myself but the StarLite is a surface style convertible designed to run Linux, even shipping with the distribution of your choice right out of the box. And apparently it supports MPP pens. It’s not in the official specs but StarLabs is selling an active pen that’s “exclusively designed for the StarLite Mk V”
