Almost all the ads I see on YouTube’s “pretending to be a video” slots are low quality rubbish, but I find it surprising how many are also using the religious angle to ply the grift.
It’s never surprising that the anti-sex ones are always some “tidy, respectable” white guy.
I tried reporting this one but essentially it doesn’t fit any of the categories Google feel are valid complaints.

Stuff like "give away all your possessions" is really central to the new testament. Jesus literally says you can't be rich and get into heaven. I don't think a lot of so-called christians got that memo lol. And then the church has a guy on a golden chair in charge? Like... really?
I'm a total atheist btw. But that doesn't mean I don't know what's in the bible.

Any tips for consoling a four year old who is suddenly very very upset about the idea of death and dying?
We're making it clear he's got a long long long time to be alive yet, as have we, while trying to be real and not tell any fairy stories - but he's very young of course and can't imagine ever being sort of "done" and really really doesn't want to ever die 😭
(Please nothing about climate change etc. in this situation - I'm well aware I've brought a child into a period of change that sucks.)
@sarajw I don't have kids, so I don't know if this actually makes sense, but what works for me is thinking about how I'm going to make the most out of each day.
In the time I've been on Mastodon, I think “I hope this email finds you…” is the first/only snowclone meme I've noticed here. I'm sure there have been others I've missed, but this space definitely feels less prone to generating memes than, say, Twitter was.
