EDIT3: i'm going to close this to new submissions since they've slowed to a trickle now

new to mastodon? do you make cool shit? if you've got under 100 followers, reply to this with 1-4 images of stuff you've made and i will boost you to my 5.8k followers, because i want people who do creative work to find a place on mastodon

please note i will be spacing out boosts to not spam my followers too much

EDIT2: if you're a composer (or do similar non-visual work) you should probably drop a link to where people can listen to your work. maybe add cover art if you have any

EDIT: if i miss your post it's likely you're on an instance mine has muted, I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do about that

ShujinAcademyVGMClub,

@eniko I'm a podcaster, which may not count, but my show is Shujin Academy VGM Club and it's all about playing cool old video game music. I try to go for a vibe that's like a radio show devoted to game music. Here are some show arts (which were actually done by my buddy Jameson of fellow VGM podcast barSILENCE) and also a link to my website at https://shujinacademyvgmclub.podbean.com

Preview of next episode: I found out that Top Gear 2 was ported from the Super NES onto the Genesis, Amiga, and the Amiga CD32. I Iistened to every one of the soundtracks today, and I decided to have at least one track from each on the next episode. Because of this, I'll be playing the first CD32 songs I've ever played on the show, and they may even be the first CD32 tracks played on any VGM podcast.

Sorry bro but I put that poptop there. Just cruise on back home now✌️

Oh and I DO know where I'm gonna go when the volcano blows, actually.

ShujinAcademyVGMClub,

@dannotdaniel Jimmy Buffett is pretty fun music. He can actually be more interesting than just his big hits, too; he's got a lot of interesting ballads, and Why Don't We Get Drunk And Screw was written because he got sick of hearing songs that implied drinking and sex but weren't brave enough to admit it.

@ryanhoulihan Those days after 9/11 were rough. Don't forget the DC sniper attacks!

I should do more scathing hot takes on Mastodon to increase my engagement and increase my follower count. So! Scathing Hot Take: Castlevania Symphony of the Night has a really great soundtrack.

    ShujinAcademyVGMClub,

@angelus_04 I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! How could anyone disagree! Even if horror games aren't your thing (and they generally aren't mine), there's a general consensus that SH2 is very good.

    ShujinAcademyVGMClub,

@angelus_04 Also, Akira Yamaoka's soundtrack for Silent Hill 2 is really good. My VGM podcast bro Jameson covered Yamaoka for #MastersOfVGM last year, and he's certainly a worthy honoree in our unofficial VGM Composer Hall of Fame.
