That strikes me as overly reductionist. Biden’s definitely not doing enough to stop the genocide, but he didn’t cause it. He’s also not a vital instrument of the apparatus that’s allowing it to be executed.
I’m aware. Algebra is what I’m most interested in, and so when someone says “0” I think “additive identity of a ring” unless context makes the use obvious.
Edit: I’ve given it some thought, and I’m not convinced all algebras can fit in a set, because every non-empty set can have at least one algebra imposed upon them, and so the set of all algebras must have cardinality no less than the proper class of all sets. We also can’t have a set of all algebras (up to isomorphism) because iirc the surreal numbers are an algebra imposed on a structure that itself incorporates a proper class, and is thus incapable of being a set element.

I recently read something by a Palestinian, commenting on how so many people are advocating not voting for Biden because of what’s happening in palestine. They said that y’all need to stop using dead Palestinians as a justification for your political stance. They talked about how they were horrified that someone would do something that’s objectively worse for their families on the pretense of doing something because they were suffering.
But hey, maybe they’re lying. Fuck, for all you know I made the entire thing up. But the fact remains that there’s a large contingent of interactions that involve one side ostensibly advocating for a group of people without that group’s input and doing so in a way that’s likely to lead to more suffering.
Some people accuse me of not caring about Palestinians. Maybe that’s true; maybe the reason I argue in favor of voting for Biden is pure self-interest, but it doesn’t matter. Why I argue doesn’t matter because this tactic, voting for Biden, is good not just for me but everyone who isn’t a fascist, including the Palestinians that so many people here claim to care about.
Step 2: use the extra time to build dual power and/or electoral reform.
Note: The time to build an alternative to the DNC for 2024 was no less than 4 years ago. The time to start building the coalition for 2028 starts no later than December 2024.

Voting doesn’t change anything. Not voting kills us.
We vote to buy time. We use that time to perform direct action.
Politicians strategically used gun rights as a wedge issue to ensure that the segment of the population with the most guns are more likely to be intensely loyal to the fascist continent of our political class. Furthermore, our law enforcement has more and even bigger guns.
The person you’re arguing with is either wantonly dishonest, insane, or both. They’re entirely unreasonable and arguing with them will get you nowhere. On top of that, the audience has moved on. Literally nothing can be gained by continuing the conversation except for frustrating yourself.
