TW for self harm D&D

This 60 Minutes special from 1985 talks about how many teenagers self harmed after playing D&D. They also mention how most were highly intelligent, didn't play sports, didn't fit in.....but fail to mention how many kids like that in school are bullied....which more than likely led to the self harm.

I had to go through a lot of religious indoctrination trauma from that time period. My mom was all over the Satanic Panic of the 80s. I wasn't even allowed to trick or treat or celebrate Halloween. In the 8th grade when most kids quit trick or treating, I started. LOL Also, I couldn't wear pants in public!

100% and great observation.

I mean 60 Minutes and 20/20 were jumping in so that seem to legitimize it for people. Very scary times indeed, and like you said, ongoing.

I'm playing catch-up after being off work last Friday.

Listening to Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode. Remember being a kid and listening to an album so much that you know not only all the words to the songs, but the order in which they listed on the album.

I was thinking of doing an, "I drink of my sisters" event, like in The Craft.

We would do a full circle and everyone would bring something to symbolize what they want/need to bring into their lives. We take a bottle around, fill everyone's cups when it's their turn, and we all listen and witness what they want to manifest. Party afterwards.

Thoughts become words become actions so saying it out loud often helps us commit.
