A new tick born disease has started to appear in the UK
and Lymes disease cases increase every years.Also some incredibly rare diseases can be spread by ticks.The brown dog tick is becoming a problem from imported animals and that only needs humans or dogs to survive so it can thrive even in towns.We check our pets daily

@HelenGraham over the last couple of days we've removed at least 10 ticks from our two tabby cats. Checking every day. I've had three this year on my legs and I rarely wear shorts. It seemed to start very early this year.

There are deer and other wildlife roaming around and the grass is long.

@DavidjCrook @HelenGraham I wouldn't be surprised if its climate related, we get long mild periods in winter now. I hoped when we got the odd night of - 9°C thus year they might be reduced but I suspect we need sustained cold periods to reduce their numbers.

@DavidjCrook @HelenGraham we struggled before we got these. The 'Tick Twister' ™. Can't remember where Eve got them, may have been a pet shop. I'm sure they're not hard to find and they are very easy to use and effective.
