⚠️ Narrascope fundraising gap, a thread ⚠️

TL;DR: if the financial situation continues as it is now, we will not be able to run NarraScope in person. We would much rather being able to and not have to scale back!

As NarraScope draws closer, we are keeping a close eye on the finances. It turns out that:

  • both venue space and catering costs will be higher this year
  • registration is lagging behind where we were at this point last year
  • the institutional donations we rely on to make up the difference have not yet materialized.

Thus, we are asking for some help.

  • If you are interested in NarraScope, register! Both online and in-person registration is available. The more the merrier. Also, that money is part of our budget planning.

NarraScope, the small friendly conference dedicated to narrative games and interactive fiction, is now open for registration.

We’ve been running (online and offline) since 2019. This year we’re in Rochester at The Strong National Museum of Play — an exceptionally cool place to visit.

We're happy to announce the results of our first cycle!

Four projects were selected by our panel of advisors, and $2400 was disbursed by IFTF to support these projects. We had a range of proposals and the final slate shows great diversity - interpreters, accessibility, history, and sprouting new communities!

We are delighted with the results of this program - thank you all for participating!

We're launching a microgrants program to fund cool projects that align with our mission - which includes cataloguing and preserving (we're maintaining IFDB and IFArchive!). If you have an idea for a project that might require some $, see if it'd fit our guidelines, and don't hesitate to apply!
