I bought Octopath Traveler in 2018 and haven’t beat it yet. In fact the only game I’ve “beaten” are the Zelda games and Skyrim.

Any suggestions for cheap but decent laptops for coding?

I’m currently learning how to code (currently Python, then maybe JavaScript), but I’m not always around my desktop, and learning on my phone is not always an option (also, it can be quite cumbersome at times). Therefore, I’m looking into purchasing a laptop just for learning how to code and stuff....

Steam Deck. I’m half serious if you got a wireless mini keyboard with touch pad. You can play games on it too BTW ;)

No. Just have to burn the OS image to an SD card and plug everything up.

Yes. Steam Deck is based on Arch linux. I even have PyCharm installed.

Will add to my search engine list. Thanks

So it’s a feature of the app you’re using and not Lemmy itself? I think having a tagging functionality would also be good for Lemmy.

Eezyville,

OK I think I understand what you are trying to say. User A made a list of other users that they believe should be ignored using this tagging system. They then shared this list somehow with User B and User B was a mod. The mod then blocked the people in this list made from User A’s tags and User B then shared this same list to Users C, D, etc who are also mods.

You make the assumption that the person generating the images also trained the AI model. You also make assumptions about how the AI was trained without knowing anything about the model.

Eezyville,
@Eezyville@sh.itjust.works avatar

And if a person is using a model based on harmful training data, they should be held responsible.

I will have to disagree with you for several reasons.

  • You are still making assumptions about a system you know absolutely nothing about.
  • By your logic anything born from something that caused suffering from others (this example is AI trained on CSAM) the users of that product should be held responsible for the crime committed to create that product.
    • Does that apply to every product/result created from human suffering or just the things you don’t like?
    • Will you apply that logic to the prosperity of Western Nations built on the suffering of indigenous and enslaved people? Should everyone who benefit from western prosperity be held responsible for the crimes committed against those people?
    • What about medicine? Two examples are The Tuskegee Syphilis Study and the cancer cells of Henrietta Lacks. Medicine benefited greatly from these two examples but crimes were committed against the people involved. Should every patient from a cancer program that benefited from Ms. Lacks’ cancer cells also be subject to pay compensation to her family? The doctors that used her cells without permission didn’t.
    • Should we also talk about the advances in medicine found by Nazis who experimented on Jews and others during WW2? We used that data in our manned space program paving the way to all the benefits we get from space technology.

My values are none of your business. Try attacking my arguments instead of looking for something about me to attack.

So does that mean that these private schools are bound to the US Constitution now? Freedom of speech, religion, etc?

Did you read the article? Could you get past the pay wall?

The ones who used the stolen identities did take the jobs from people with legit identities.

That’s because they are authoritarian.

Do you think that stopped the wars between Christianity, Islam, and Judaism? Or even the beef between Catholics and Protestants? They will hate you merely because the Sun sets.

There are a lot of things I wished they did similar to other countries such as VAT. Hiding all these fees seems deceptive from both the business and the govt sneaking in their taxes.

Eezyville,

Agreed. I hate tipping. Some tippers will hate for tipping to go away because they can use their charisma to make a lot of money. More power to them but tipping is just a way for these businesses to keep their labor low. Many other countries don’t have tipping and can still have restaurants. For some reason the US needs tipping to be able to have restaurants.
