I've lived in for nearly 5 years. I made so many friends and lost most of them, so many connections, and they disconnected. I made so much music, that's forever existing, hundreds of handmade jewellery pieces sent to awesome people and some still awaiting. I'm excitingly lost and It's time to find myself again. When it's a worldwide trend to hate for things out of our control, we must relearn how to love ourselves and the world with our flaws and strengthen.

Cali,

The police in Saxony, eastern Germany, have seized 50,000 Bitcoin from the former operator of the pirate site movie2k.to through a voluntary deposit to a state-controlled wallet.

Cali,

@BleepingComputer that’s a crazy amount of money!

I’ve known for a long time the “Mother of Hip Hop”, Sylvia Robinson, was the same Sylvia of Mickey & Sylvia—the same one who sang the 1956 rock n’ roll classic “Love Is Strange”. You might know that song from the film Dirty Dancing.

What I didn’t know was that in 1975, she bought the entire Chess catalog for $1 million, which brought her into financial difficulties. This was the catalyst for her assembling the Sugarhill Gang, and thus launching the hip hop industry.

And by the way, if you don’t know what Chess Records is, it’s the most important blues label of all time—the home of Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Howlin’ Wolf, Etta James, and more. It’s probably worth hundreds of millions today—I hope Sylvia Robinson profited handsomely from it.

That woman was a legend!

Cali,

@atomicpoet what a legend

The Record: The FBI and CISA warned Wednesday that Chinese-made drones pose a “significant risk” to U.S. critical infrastructure and provided new guidance on how entities can better protect networks from their malicious use.

    I am going to have to start planning a downsize for Infosec.exchange. The servers are far oversized and donations are starting to wane (which I expected) and we are at a fairly constant level of activity now.

    Cali,

    @jerry damn.. if everyone paid, like, $1 a month would that resolve things? Just wondering about the numbers..

    In response to Microsoft's announcement of a "copilot" key to launch their AI engine*, I am working on a line of keyboards that includes a DF key, which when pressed, will insert a context appropriate image of a dumpster fire into whatever you are working on. If you are working on code, it will do nothing, since it's probably already a dumpster fire.

    *if it really were truly AI, wouldn't it already know that you needed its help?

    relay.infosec.exchange has been assimilated into the big new Epyc server. The only thing left now is matrix.infosec.exchange, infosec.town, and fedia.social. I am going to wait to see how all the server cancellation, the recent threads-related drop in donations, and the Euro/USD exchange rate hit the budget before deciding whether to set up another mastodon server that does (or doesn’t) fully federate with threads.

    Cali,

    @ramsey @jerry @tappenden I kinda get the nervousness around this.. for a lot of folks who left twitter/facebook etc it was on principal. Tired of data harvesting, tired of manipulation for $$$, so they moved somewhere that was like the start of “pure” social media. With threads coming onboard, they fear the same will happen again OR they took a personal stand last time, and those same feelings persist

    Cali,

    @tappenden @ramsey @jerry all true.. I’m happy where I am tbh.. and we’ll see where this threads thing goes :)

    Lots of people pointed out my expression in this picture. There are two things to understand... One: I have a terrible RBF - sorry. Two: I am in incredible pain - I hurt my foot/leg and the hours in the car were taking a toll. Thor (the cat) is my best buddy of 17 years and I am constantly amazed that this little creature actively seeks me out to lay in my lap when he is stressed. He got 6 hours of non-stop head rubs, tummy rubs, and chin scratches.

    Cali,

    @jerry hope you feel better dude

    Cali,

    @jerry the Monday after thanksgiving weekend must be the poster child for irony
