For anyone using the native Mastodon web site/app annoyed by the HUGE boost/favourite notifications esp. when the original post contains a link card, there are two ways to get them out of your way:

1. Find the Notification settings button top-right of the notifications feed (after the '🔔 Notifications' title bar button). Toggle on the 'Show filter bar' option.

Now you have a bar across your notifications feed - pick the 2nd one, 'Mentions', for example.

Forgive my occasional enthusiasm pointing out changes I notice to the #Mastodon #webClient. It's fun to see it evolve. Nothing like an active, evolving #FOSS ecosystem!

Noticing that end-of-toot hashtags, in a toot with pics, get placed below the pic now! That's a much nicer presentation.

Seems to be new in the rev 4.2 beta rev.

Many Spring developers have asked a more modern synchronous HTTP client than RestTemplate w/ an API similar to WebClient. @poutsma has just introduced the new RestClient API, available as of Spring Framework 6.1. Ist eigentlich bekannt, dass es sehr schicke und gute Alternativen zum Webinterface der eigenen Mastodon-Instanz gibt?

Ähnlich wie bei Tweetdeck für Twitter gibt es auch hier die Möglichkeit, sich eine deutlich andere Oberfläche im Browser anzeigen zu lassen.

Zumindest diese drei Webclients für Mastodon solltet ihr mal ausprobieren:
