Today is the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landing at #Normandy, #France, where ~160k #Allied troops pulled off the largest invasion by sea in history. From that point on #America was in charge of #AlliedForces & it was the beginning of the end of #WWII
When you travel to that battlefield & visit other #WWII memorials & cemeteries in #Europe you will see what great care is taken to ensure the memories of those #sacrifices are honored w/daily maintenance & #respect. This is likely the last big #DDay celebration featuring WWII #veterans who are almost all centenarians…. Some are traveling to the ceremonies & will be honored by all the dignitaries like #POTUS Joe #Biden, British PM Rishi #Sunak, Canadian PM #Trudeau & #KingCharlesII of Britain.
It's #MemorialDay, so the Trumps are seizing the opportunity to tell the world how much they've sacrificed for America. No, seriously, that's what #EricTrump (the dumbest #Trump) decided to proclaim on this day when we honor those who have actually served their country. Of course, Trump thinks #veterans are 'losers' for serving, but he and his family never miss an opportunity to put themselves up on an unearned pedestal. This family is scum.

🕊️This week, I had the privilege of volunteering at Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden, where I placed flags on veterans’ graves in preparation for Memorial Day.
The flags we placed are a small yet significant gesture of gratitude for their courage and dedication. 🎖️
Let us never forget their legacy and continue to honor them throughout the year. 🙏🏽
