GE has been an astonishingly good investment for me over the past 15 years: up over 160% including spin-offs, and I didn't buy most of those shares that long ago. Now to decide whether to get rid of the aerospace company ("rump $GE") which was never the part I really wanted to own anyway...
Still don't know if I've found the right way to represent spin-offs in #GnuCash since it doesn't have any built-in support for that kind of transaction. It appears I did $GEHC and $GEV two different ways.
In an industry not known for providing minimally adequate customer service, Intuit continues to provide the worst customer service of all, by a truly astonishing margin.
@adriano@KeithAmmann I use #GnuCash for my small one person company. It serves my needs very well. No need to rent it, no need to buy it. Download it, and #freedom to the user. And #donate, if you like it. You can donate in #feedback, #money, or both.
Does anybody use #GnuCash? I want to use it instead of the terrible online-banking of my different banks... but I am failing completely at this 🤯
I have got the AqBanking connection to the DKB set up, but what now?
I thought I'd get a list of the recent transactions and the current balance.
Shouldn't this maybe be the default thing to display? How do I do this?
Hey other #hackspace board members here on mastodon.
What software do you use to manage your hackspace?
Like administrate members, administrate payments and all the stuff you have to deal with in your space?
@maralorn@mcfly
I use #gnucash to run parts of my wife's shop and I can't recommend it at all: the user interface is ultimately bad. From what I got from their mailing list, they don't even use it themselves. If I could somehow break out of that vendor lock without loosing years of data, I would immediately do so.
Hey.
Meine Frage: Alternativen? Irgendwelche andere Software? #GnuCash gibts auch nicht mehr für Windows7. Irgendwelche Online-Anbieter die sowas anbieten vielleicht?
"Online accounting software, built to automate business financial processes. Control your business bookkeeping with automated accounting, to run intelligent reports for faster decision-making."
Another well-designed #FOSS product launched and developed under an #AGPL license. Nice!
Recently #GNUCash 5.1 was released, a good trigger for me to update a Python script to automatically convert several data standards and file formats (.csv & .pdf) into one, simple readable .csv format that GNUCash can import easily.
@kaimeinke I made a mistake, I meant #GNUTaler. I am sorry. These guys from the GNU project just make too many things.
But that is a system for microtransactions that offers complete privacy for the person paying, but stores the information of the person receiving the money, so tax fraud is difficult with that system. The system could become the basis for a digital currency.
#GNUCash is just an accounting software that can do a lot of fancy stuff.
