Until now, people in France suffering from incurable illnesses, and who wish to end their lives, have had to travel abroad. But one of President Macron's pledges for his second term in office was a debate on the right to die. That debate got started today, being such a divisive subject, the discussions are expected to carry on for more than a year. FRANCE24's Solange Mougin reports. #France#Euthanasia#AssistedSuicide#Health#EndOfLife
Pay no attention to the proud #Republican puppy murderer! Instead, listen to #LaraTrump pivot, and blame #JoeBiden for an alleged increase in #euthanasia! That's right... #Dogs are being euthanized, and it's all #Biden's fault! I'll tell ya, for a dementia patient who is in a secret coma in the #WhiteHouse basement, Joe Biden sure does get around!
French govt presents bill allowing terminally ill adults to take lethal medication
> Many French people have traveled to neighboring countries where medically assisted suicide or #euthanasia are legal. French President #EmmanuelMacron has long promised such a bill.
"To explore experiences of patients who have complex chronic conditions, such as #fibromyalgia & #chronicfatiguesyndrome, when they request medical assistance in dying (#MAID) in Canada"
Dear #Facebook, if someone writes a post about their impending #euthanasia, it is not a good time to prompt "Would you like to see more posts from this person in your timeline?"
It breaks my heart but I just decided that Friday’s appointment is too long a wait for #FridaTheBasset given her increasing difficulties eating, so I’ve moved up the #Euthanasia to late Wednesday. This is so painful for me. But I try to imagine what she’s going through and I think it’s the right, generous, humane thing to do. #Dignity#QualityOfLife
When my time comes, if only it could be this easy, for a human too.
Sad news yesterday. #FridaTheBasset’s cancer is progressing very fast. She has very little time left. I'm feeling devastated, but I don't want to bring her down so I’ll wait until after she's gone to fall apart, though I won't have time to, because Moses will need a lot more attention then. It's sad, but it's life. Her difficulties eating are increasing very fast. I'm so thankful for my wonderful vet!!! She is such an amazing dog. I will do miss her. We have a #Euthanasia appointment in 6 days.
This seems like it could be a classic, mensch-y, balanced movie. It's such a "you really shouldn't ignore either Scylla or Charybdis just because you have clearer sight of one or the either" sort of issue.
