I've noticed that with the previous packaging method, the first GIMP startup took a longer time on the "Querying new Plug-ins" and some "loading" steps, but subsequent launches were much faster.
With the new method, each launch is slow.
Is this something one could tune locally, or a known issue?
@iamdtms When speed and low latency are important - without VPN, but it's easier to access your home devices from work or just in general (of course, this is only true if you use your own VPN server)
