I'm playing a chess tournament in Somerset near Burnie on Tasmania's north coast. There isn't a lot of spare time, but I did get to Doctors Rock near Wynyard. Absolutely glorious!
Not sure whether it was charity or the usual choking from Hikaru but Ding somehow manages to get a win in the Norway #Chess in Armageddon with the Black pieces saving the #Goat#Magnus from having to play tie-breakers for the title.
I was in a bookshop today but they didn't have the book I wanted. So I went to the desk to see if they could order it. While I was waiting I looked at a book on the counter called A Field Guide To Tasmanian Fungi and I thought what a great book to help ID all the species I see about. I wasn't going to buy it, though, until I noticed that I knew one of the authors, who besides being a mycologist, is a keen chess player.

10-year-old FM Faustino Oro has achieved his second IM norm in the Americas Continental Championship! Oro already holds the record for being the youngest player ever to achieve an IM norm. He is now just one norm and a 2400 rating away from the title.
#chess I must say I have to wonder whether Ding Liren was cheating. When has there ever been a world champion not in the top 10? His form rather mysteriously fallen off a cliff. He is playing at about 2500 at the moment. Gukesh can hardly wait.
@nf3xn I don't like your wording and it looks to me like you have no idea what you are talking about. Ding Liren's biggest problem right now is probably not his chess.
@zaunkoenig Pretty arrogant of you to think I care what you think about anything. You've already revealed what you know about it. "How on earth would he cheat in blitz or rapid?" Moron

I've just entered the Tasmanian Open Chess Championship which will be held in Somerset in 2 weeks.
I would have liked to enter the Asian Senior Chess Championship which will be held in Mongolia as I've never been there. But, alas, that will not be happening.
