We've just returned from our trip to the Netherlands, and I'm starting to post new photos! Of course, there was no way to not take a film roll and an analog camera. 📷 It was the first time I shoot photos with a rangefinder, if you like it, please stay tuned because there will be more to come! I took this shot in Amsterdam with the Zorki 4 camera (an old Soviet rangefinder) from 1966. 🥰

Gear:
• Zorki 4 (KMZ, 1966)
• Jupiter-8 50 mm f/2 (KMZ, 1967)
• Kodak Professional Portra 400/36

@Fungi455 I get what you're saying. I just don't think it's as easy to boil down into one recommendation.

I lean towards 1" sensors for stills. I lean towards sony for video/action. I'm happy to use either out in the field for both applications. 4K60 looks awesome from a 1" sensor. 4K24 is still going to look choppy from a 1IV in direct sun.

Things like minimum focusing distance can be a bummer, but a 2X crop from the IMX989 is nearly in the same ballpark as the pixel size on the XPERIA 1IV.

At a roughly 45mm equivalent FoV (and of course a LITTLE de-mosaic-ing) a 12S Ultra is still capturing data on 1.6um pixels, compared against 1.8um on an XPERIA 1IV.

I think this looks really good for a 2X zoom https://www.flickr.com/photos/jickbahtech/52470901197/in/dateposted-public/

Anymore, I think companies using a standalone 2X sensor for portraits are missing the opportunity to move 50mm equivalence to the main sensor, and then give us a 75mm telephoto instead.

If it's about portraiture, I kinda like the 75mm look better.

Fungi455,

@SomeGadgetGuy yes, I agree, to clarify when I said the right way I didn't mean the only way. There is the brute force method of just putting in the largest sensor you can (will we ever see phones with larger than 1" sensors?... Too soon?), but if you focus on optimizing the sensor technology, you leave room for those optimizations to take up more space. Kinda like bike tires, you could put on 36" tires to increase the smoothness of the ride, but you'd be better off upgrading the suspension, 1/2

1/5 Bluebell walk I went to see the bluebells in Wanstead Park last week - one of the best displays in London.

But it was a really overcast day with dull flat light. (I will try and go back when conditions might be better this week).

So this week it won't be all bluebell snaps and I'm starting with an attempt to be different with some out of focus foreground bluebells which capture the carpet of colour rather better than some images.

First photo from the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Felt like rolling around in the dirt a bit.

fat8893,

@SomeGadgetGuy Love the bokeh. It's not too intense.

@fat8893 it's a really pleasant focus fall off, and having aperture control to sharpen this up a bit is HUGE.

Burning flowers

Just some tulips shot with the earliest version (Version 1) of the Porst Color Reflex 55/1.4 adapted to a Nex-7 (M42 to E-mount). No coating on that lense let's one play with the lights. For outdoor shootings I definetaly recommend a lense hood.

lucasgonze,

That little peek of color has a huge impact.

arkadiusz,

I hope so! :)
