The sculpture represents Silvius Brabo, a legendary character from whose gesture, it is said, the name of Antwerp etymologically derives, from the Dutch hand werpen, which means to throw your hand. In the background you can see the Antwerp town hall protected by a tarp for its rehabilitation.

There are two ways to enter the Sint-Anna pedestrian tunnel (1933), which connects Antwerp city to the left bank of the river Scheldt. One way is via the wooden escalators, the other way is via a majestic metal elevator.
Both options both bring you 31 meter down. The tunnel itself is more than half a kilometer long.
