Donations for our hardship fund.
Many folks on strike will be impacted financially. It's important to keep them supported as much as possible. (for the record, as a G6 staff, with no kids to support, I'm not applying)

BREAKING: Agreement has been reached on the full restoration of USS pensions. 69 days of strike action in the making. This will now be put before the Higher Education Committee and if agreed a full member vote will take place.
On the #UCUrising picket line at Oxford Brookes University this morning spreading my positive vibes of #solidarity grounded in #empathy with this crocheted scarf I made in #UCU colours. It's time to build the union so that we can save the sector.
As my employer does not recognise UCU and #EIS does not have a strike mandate under the current restrictive anti-labour policies of the UK government, I am working today, but with you in spirit.
Why are academics and other university professionals across the #UK on strike?
Pay has fallen in real terms over the past decades, there are gross gaps with respect to racial and gender equality in pay across the sector, the sector relies on casualised labor far too much (and also outsourcing instruction), and workloads are unsustainable.
And so another week of strike action begins. Seriously peed off to be here yet again but progress on pay and conditions is not happening fast enough, and I'm here in solidarity with MAB colleagues who've been treated disproportionately badly #UCURising
Hooray, just received the email that confirms I will lose 50% of my salary for participating in the @ucu marking boycott 😀, action taken to improve working conditions and salary. But its OK, because the University has decided to give all staff £500 from the year's financial surplus, because "of the important and diverse contributions of colleagues across the institution". Like a tip you give to casual staff. Action from the manual "How to destroy morale and collegiality in staff" #ucurising
Aberdeen UCU members gather to show their solidarity in the face of punitive pay deductions while we legally fight for reasonable working conditions. We aren't going away! #UCU#ucurising
'Today Keir Starmer was given an opportunity to show support for university staff engaged in industrial action but instead chose to undermine them.'
'UCU members are fighting for a sector that properly values staff, and we are proud to have the overwhelming support of students. The leader of the Labour Party should be backing staff, not bosses.'
In case you were wondering whether the vice chancellors of UK universities respect their staff, or if they‘ve negotiated in good faith, or if there are going to be good relations after the current dispute, here’s the head of the employers‘ organisation complaining that staff aren‘t suffering enough: ‘UoA Principal George Boyne told senior colleagues he wanted Aberdeen UCU members to feel financial “pain along the way.“‘ https://www.gaudie.co.uk/post/uoa-chief-george-boyne-told-colleagues-he-wanted-staff-to-feel-pain-of-pay-deductions Top work by student journalists. #ucu#ucurising
