Are you trans, UK based and over 18? As part of our research into trans people’s experiences of non-transition related healthcare , we’re looking for people to interview. We can offer a £50 Love to Shop voucher to all participants.
We’re especially looking to hear from Black and brown trans people, disabled trans people, and trans people over 50.
Black trans people are more likely than white people or cis people to have poor experiences at their GP surgery. 19% of Black trans people have reported GP surgery staff not understanding their mental health needs (compared to 6% of white cis people and 13% of white trans people) NHS GP Patient Survey, 2021.

Waiting lists are only growing and trans people are still being refused private prescriptions. Trans people should not have to choose between long wait times or costly prescriptions to be themselves.

Towards the end of last week TransActual became aware that the Northern Region Gender Dysphoria Service have temporarily closed their waiting list to new patients (if you're already on their waiting list or a patient with them, you're not directly impacted).

Chay, our Director for Healthcare, delivered some training to an Integrated Care Board and he told us “we had some great conversations and it was useful to be able to share the findings of the Trans Lives Survey and Transition Access Survey. We’re so thankful for everyone that has shared their experiences with us, through our community surveys or when they reach out to us in other ways. You really do help us to make a difference.”
