Geeky action du jour: importing #TheRealists blog posts into a #Notion database — so that I can potentially get interesting insights thanks to its new Q&A feature 👩🏻💻
(inspired by @crumbler and his brilliant use of Notion)
Mistakes were made. A notable one? Not going all in with a newsletter / #ownyouraudience strategy 10 YEARS AGO. I wish I had not spent so much time on social media, especially the (now dead) bird site...
Well, it's never too late. I'm in the process of resurrecting my #newsletters (personal + work projects) and things so far are going well. The open rate for #TheRealists' newsletter gives me hope.
My solution to curb phone distractions and safeguard my data: I offload distracting apps (and those by companies I don't trust) to an old, empty smartphone with a different Apple ID.
ICYMI: I wrote about what it's like to be a member of the LAST generation that grew up offline, without the internet... plus raising a small child screen-free in 2024: https://newsletter.therealists.org/the-in-betweeners/
I just sent my very first newsletter for #TheRealists via #Ghost (love love love this platform) after ditching #substack.
The topic? A bit of personal history about being a geriatric millennial, living my whole life in between two worlds... and raising a small child away from screens.
