I've witnessed the bias, the misogyny, the systems that allow one gender to flourish in STEM while limiting another.

It has been 34 years since the mass murder at École Polytechnique de Montréal. The incident was horrific, where 14 women were murdered, and 10 additional women and four men were wounded.

Je suis aux journées d'information bachelor de l'EPFL (polytechnique lausanne). Bon je vais pas mentir, ils vendent du rêve. Le campus est incroyable, la moitié des bachelors me font envie, les approches (sustainability, vision globale des projets...) sont super intéressantes...

Been working my way through the works of one of the greatest film directors working today - #DenisVilleneuve. I’ve seen the major Hollywood works like #Dune, #BladeRunner2049, #Arrival, and #Sicario, as well as his smaller films like #Prisoners, and even his lesser known films like #Enemy and even #Polytechnique… but today I watched #Incendies… and… uhh… Jesus Christ. What a fucked-up yet powerful condemnation of the horrors that war creates not only directly, but so often just in its wake.

A dark-haired olive-skin woman on the right of the frame looks leftward devastated, with her eyes downward to the ground in front of her. Her face has a line of blood dripping beside the visible temple of her head between her eye and ear in the frame, though it’s not clear whether or not the blood is her own. As wind blows her hair, an old model 60s-70s era light blue bus with a stripe along its side is in the background of the frame slightly out of focus - spewing flames from its shattered side windows as it burns and black smoke billows out from the top following the same wind blowing the woman’s hair. The beige rocky desert all around the woman and bus has dust kicking up in the air from the same wind and a blurry human body-like shapes lay on the ground with smatterings of red shapes among them - perhaps blood.
