Studio Update: A few weeks ago I was soliciting opinions about whether or not to get a Mac Mini to replace my ailing, nearly decade-old PC.
Opinions differed, leaning toward "yes but get more RAM than base model" and I had just about decided not to do it when I stumbled on a good video from a music tech vlogger I really like (video here: https://youtu.be/obkCMxaIIFM) who did exactly what I was thinking and had great results.
I really didn't expect 1010Music to add USB audio, but it's a very welcome addition!
It's not the world's most feature-rich implementation—just stereo in/out 44.8k/24-bit—but it's perfect for my needs and lets me get rid of one more device from my live setup.
Music/sound gear geeks, I have the opportunity to purchase a second hand Yamaha Stagepas 500 from another voice teacher and I would like to know a) is $AU400 a fair asking price; and b) is it a good setup for doing gigs/concerts with my students in places without an existing PA?

Our bitty wee Logitech Audio Receiver died a death some time ago, and at the time was the bottom of the "budget but worth trying" market. Also, don't yank on the microphone stand to adjust it to your height. That will wear it out and eventually it won't work at all. The twisty knobs are there for a reason.

the only physical difference was an additional piece of foam inside the cheaper HD555 headphones, So to save yourself $150, open your HD 555’s up and remove the foam. Done.
