But like it or not, the mass majority of users on the internet still use these sites, and some of us still want to interact with the friends and communities we are a part of on those sites. I'm getting really tired of trying to run away from big tech, only to be ensnared again by the greed and/or naivety of sites who ultimately cave to the whims of big tech....
On Mastodon you are able to export your followers, blocklist, etc and import them to another instance in case you want to move somewhere else for whatever reason....
So, weekend tally: The number of active users across Mastodon rose by 294K, and posting activity roughly tripled. Lots of new sign-ups, but also many returning users. Fun times!
Turmoil at Twitter following new limits to the amount of posts users can see appears to be driving a surge in activity at Mastodon, a German rival that prides itself on its decentralised, user-driven structure.
I understand that "articles" do not go to mastodon, but "microblogs" do. There are 3 "posts" (microblogs) in my magazine, but nothing has appeared under the magazine's account on Mastodon. There are apparently 11 followers over there, so I feel bad that they are not getting any content....
