Look here, it's #NewMusic for you! Every week I cover 5+ new acts, listen to ~15 min worth of stuff, then tell you all about it so you can check out the ones that seem intriguing. This week we had a couple different flavors of #ambient and New Age, some #neoclassical (that also works as ambient 😅 ) and a really distinctive #rock track. Check them out!
Who's got some music they'd like to have heard and written about? Need a few good tracks for this week's write-up. Send me links to what you're currently promoting!
It's a good way to prep for the next #BandcampFriday, or just meet some of your musical neighbors. Read it here (and be sure to actually listen to some/all of the list!):
Got some pretty interesting submissions this week for #OPM! It'll go live on the blog tomorrow AM and I'll have a thread with a digest version here later in the day.
Feel free to bookmark/follow the feed/subscribe so you don't miss it:
A new track has appeared in the realms of Metaphsyical Shitposting! "High Times in Mystery Meters" is a deep dive into drone and delay, smearing time and tonality across your eardrums in a most(ly) pleasant way! Listen close to decode the secret messages hidden within!
Have a listen now & check back in soon for a post on how it was made (hint: mostly modular synth).
You ready to hear about some #OPM (other people's music)? I'm going to try something different this week and add all of the music I'm covering in one thread, with the blog containing slightly longer versions of all of these linked at the end. LMK what you think of this format.
#OPM: Alien Anomaly - “Postcard from Waco (Witness)” (@AlienAnomaly)
A classic heavy rock protest/story song about a lynching in Waco, Texas from a band in Singapore, is what we get in “Postcard from Waco (Witness)” and that’s an accurate title in every respect. The highlights here are the powerful vocal and the heavy message, but the traditional guitars, bass, and drums arrangement does its part to bring it all home.

Well, would you look at (listen to) that? Another entry in the Metaphysical Shitposting oeuvre popped up overnight! The newest track is called "Demon Rodeo" and it's a rhythmic, percussive sortie into weird space, with lots of weird voicings poking thru the mix. Have a listen!
Have a listen to "The Stars Are Ours," one of the most chill and atmospheric tracks I've ever released (I think you'll like it even if you find my usual work a bit much). I always thought it would make a good theme for a PBS doc about space exploration, or maybe an indie sci-fi drama. Let me know what you think?
#New#music! As promised, the corpus of Metaphysical Shitposting has grown! A new track has appeared! It's "Cosmic Horror in the Strip Mall Parking Lot," a direct sonic exploration of that peculiar, mind-rending experience.
Falling somewhere between film music, IDM and downtempo, Inexistens from @xylander offers up 5 tracks of warm, bright and playful electronica. Clean production, minimal arrangements and a good use of sonic space all work together to bring these tunes to life.
Who loves #zombies? Besides me, I mean. I definitely do. I love them so much I made some music about them, and if you love zombies, too, I think you'll enjoy this track!
It's October, so the spooky season is officially at hand! In other words, a perfect time to dive into some new music full of monsters, madmen, zombies and ghosts! And hey, my album Psychedelic Ghost Stories is just such an album! I actually wrote and recorded most of it last year during October, so the vibes are right! Happy listening and Happy #Halloween!
If you're really feeling generous, I'm at the precipice of 400 #Bandcamp followers, too... I promise not to spam you lol! I send out fewer than one email a month there on average, generally announcing a new release or a sale I'm having.
And, uh, for the TRULY giving, I'm also about $50 below my sales goal...
