I believe it was @popey on the latest #LinuxMatters podcast who talked about the joy of programming, using some examples of just coding in plain ol’ php (no frameworks) just to make something.
So, for the last week or so I have been taking an old routine in various languages, .NET and the WinSCP API and rewriting it in plain Python just because. It’s probably all wrong. But I have been chuffed at every stage of the game. I am almost ready to start using it IRL.
Moved myself into a little office space to get a decent work / personal split that I wasn’t getting working from home. Brought the minimum needed in to work effectively. Nice to have a quiet space, but people nearby if I really need some human interaction. :)
