Even if Calvert-Lewin wasn't offside, there was a legitimate argument that Doucoure affected Alisson's playing of the situation from an offside position. Glad it didn't come to it. #LFC
Still not playing with the flow that was so lovely to watch earlier in the season but a well taken, necessary win for #lfc. They looked less laboured and disjointed than the last few games so #Klopp's team selection is vindicated.
Jota never needs much. He just finds a moment and his quality as a finisher is never in doubt. He makes such intelligent runs and makes really clever turns, so he’s much more sophisticated than people give him credit for.
Nicely fed by Gakpo, who has really played well these last three games. #LFC
Tough to be consistent and when you’re not getting regular minutes and you fear making a mistake will reduce your time, so I’m somewhat sympathetic to Gravenberch. He is often the target of my ire, but that was a nice goal.#LFC
And here's the kicker. I hate to say it, but it feels like it's Man United who have knocked the stuffing out of this #LFC team. Until the FA Cup came where they beat us from behind, we looked unstoppable. We were just getting going again when we played them in the league, in the game where they didn't have a shot until after an hour played, yet still drew. Since then, we've never once looked like the #LFC team we know.
Atalanta's denial of playing out of the back has been both excellent and exactly the same as it was in the reverse fixture.
And the antidote is to push the forward players higher and create the space in the middle to allow a central runner either back to goal in a holdup scenario or one moving laterally into gaps.
#LFC have not figured out what to do and it's so frustrating because it's basic.
I enjoyed the first half. Plenty of movement, most of the second balls seemed to fall to a #lfc player and a good attacking mindset. It's seems that 'missing lots of shots' has been replaced with passing too much though. #taa has been the stand out for me
