Un lindo resultado: usando ALMA, un equipo sondeó 39 nubes moleculares masivas, o "criaderos de estrellas”… y encontraron en torno a 800 "semillas estelares”… y el 99% de ellas no tenía la masa necesaria para la formación de estrellas masivas. Parece que la densidad de esas "semillas estelares” es crítica para la formación de estrellas masivas.

This is a very neat result: using ALMA, a team surveyed 39 massive cosmic clouds, or "star nurseries”… and found in the order of ~800 stellar seeds… and 99% of them lacked the mass to give birth to massive stars. It seems that core density might be more critical than mass for high-mass star formation than previously thought.
