I saw that he was going to push past me after we had passed the "Lane Ends" sign; I'm used to that sort of behaviour and always on the lookout for it, but what he did to the poor bugger towing the caravan was not only discourteous and illegal, it was downright bloody dangerous.
Right! That's the new shock absorber on. The old one had snapped the rod clean off at the top knuckle, and then pounded it's way through the wood and steel under the forward water tank – fortunately it missed the tank itself.
The new one went on easy, with the help of two jacks; one to lift the chassis off the axle, the other to squish the shockie into place.
Got the tools packed away, and down came the hail.
