Interesting to see AMD come out with an EPYC processor for the AM5 socket. Intel has done that with their entry-level Xeon processors that use the same socket as their desktop Core processor counterparts.
WCCF Tech: AMD To Launch EPYC 4004 CPUs For Mainstream AM5 Platforms: X3D 3D V-Cache & Standard Variants
#AMD Launches The #EPYC8004 "Siena" 4th Gen #EPYC Processors Review
Overall the EPYC 8004 series "Siena" processors are quite interesting and open up Zen 4(C) EPYC to new markets at lower price points and TDPs than what is targeted by Genoa. Siena is very complementary to Genoa(X) and Bergamo and fills a nice void between them and then AMD #Ryzen for more budget-minded and #SOHO/#SMB#server deployments. https://www.phoronix.com/review/amd-epyc-8004-linux
Why would anyone want to use #TornadoCash on #Ethereum / #ETH, which is written in the systemically unsafe Programming Language that is #Solidity when #Monero :monero: / #XMR exists?
#AMD#Zen2 CPUs were found to be vulnerable to a speculative execution bug called #Zenbleed that allows attackers to leak credentials and break encryption.
The good news is that AMD has issued a microcode update, the bad news is that it's only available for their #Epyc 7002 line. The fix for consumer & workstation Ryzen products containing the Zen2 cores will need to wait for a couple months for the fix.
This poor Mac Mini was born into the world with terrible out of box software*, despite having a very capable ARM processor. This experimental and invasive procedure might help this little Mac go on to live a highly productive and functional life.
A little self-deprecating neuro-diverse humor going on here. 😉
So, the initial results are in. The #Fedora#Silicon box slightly beat the #EPYC box and significantly beat the #Xeon and Raspberry Pis all building against the same #Jenkins build in parallel.
