76 universities in #Spain decided to sever cooperation relations with #Israeli#universities and research centers and linked the return of cooperation to the occupation universities’ condemnation of the #occupation army’s invasion of the #Gaza Strip.
If they don't care today, they will when they face higher prices because of trade sanctions, when they can't travel freely because of visa restrictions, when Israeli startups can't raise funds, when they lose hundreds of million in European research subsidies, when they can't participate in cultural, sporting, or academic events.
This conflict will only end when the cost of occupation outweighs its benefits for most Israelis.
i think they are LOW yield for the amount of work/money/arrest. With 150 colleges protesting, ONE school, Brown U, has agreed, not to divest from #ApartheidIsrael, but to hold a vote to divest SIX MONTHS from now.
i think the 1000 students at Columbia protesting shoulda went to the Admin building, got transfer forms, filled them out, handing them in together, saying; we will take our $66,000,000 to a school that doesnt invest in genocide next year, will that be Columbia?
now this is more what i had in mind #BDS
